Abstract

Rainfall-triggered landslides pose an escalating threat to mountain communities as extreme precipitation intensifies. We integrate a multi-decadal inventory of slope failures with statistically downscaled rainfall projections to map evolving landslide susceptibility across a mountainous region. Zones of greatest projected hazard coincide spatially with recent deforestation, underscoring the compounding role of land-use change in shaping future exposure.
